ceremony

Our friend Jack is a professional composer and organist. We were blessed to have him play our ceremony!! Jack vamped for a half hour while guests were being seated. The last 2 songs prior to the processional, were Festival Piece on St. Anne and There Shall be Showers of Blessing by James McGranahan.

The Fesitival Piece was the first song DH sang at his first concert with the Philadelphia Boys Choir. FIL teared up when he heard it. James McGranahan was my great-great uncle and this is my grandmother’s favorite song by her favorite composer. She LIT up when she heard it playing.

The trees were also our reception centerpieces.

I made our programs in Publisher and modeled them after a playbill. We met doing theatre, we got married in a theatre, it seemed appropriate. And yes, it does read – A L…..-A….. Production.

Knowing that I’d spend the entire ceremony standing, I decided to sit down. This picture is 100% unposed. A+ Georgi!!

She loved that our shoes were the same color and insisted on trying them on. Mom had to help a little. 18 mo and already has good taste. A girl after my own heart.

Getttin’ excited!!

That’s one smokin’ hot bridal party, if I do say so myself.

Mr.CarrieGrace waiting in the wings. I love this picture (it looks even better in black and white!).

Processional: The Shining by Badly Drawn Boy

My brother walked my mom down, then got back in line with us.

The girls came up the center entrance. Guys came from the right aisle. They met at the bottom of the stairs and walked up together, parting at the top.

The man-of honor & best man #1.

Our ring-bearer carried the real rings in a copper orb. No fluffy pillow here!

Ready?

Ready!

:::cue tears:::

This is exactly how I pictured it. Perfect.

After the processional, there was the greeting, Declaration of Intention (B&G), Response of Families & People, a Prayer, then our first reading.

“Happiness in Marriage” – which probably should have been credited as the Art of Marriage because that’s what it was, only with a couple sentence intro but we didn’t know that before the programs went to print. It was read at my parents wedding and credited as “Happiness in Marriage”. Kristie & Jaimie alternated lines and it flowed really nicely.

The Glee Club sang Es Ist Ein Ros’ Estsprungen by Michael Praetorius (arr. Leonard de Paur).

Then Erin read Colassians 3:12-17.

Then Jeff did he sermon. It was lovely! He talked about how we were opposites that complimented each other perfectly.

He was either calling me a WASP or talking about how am most comfortable when every detail is throughly considered.

Our friend Chris is a professional counter-tenor and he sang the Bach-Gounod Ave Maria.

He made it all the way to the final Amen’s before crying. Jack accompanied him.

Aunt Gerry did read an excerpt from Union by Robert Fulgham.

“Look at one another and remember this moment in time….”

Exchange of Vows into Blessing and Exchange of Rings:

(doesn’t Dig’s look great with my bouquet :)

Signing of Marriage License while Glee Club sang Spasyeniye Sodyelal by Pavel Tchesnokov -

The Lord’s Prayer into Dismissal with Blessing

(poor kid really had to pee! He made it through the whole thing, except the last 2 min! He left right after this.)

For the first time, I introduce the new Mr. & Mrs. Robert & Caroline A!!! We got a standing O!!

We have to kiss!!

Finally! (According to friends, the kiss lasted 16 seconds. I can neither confirm nor deny that.)

WE’RE MARRIED!!!!
