Our Color Palette
Copper / Dark Rust / Ivory / Gold / Orange
Why
My favoite color is orange but wanted something a little less obnoxious. We always pictured our wedding as a warm, wintery, welcoming event that included and involved all our friends and family. Our final color choices weren’t picked from the get-go; they more… evolved.
I couldn’t find a color of bridesmaid dress commercially that I loved, so my mom and I decided to make the dresses ourselves. We found this gorgeous dark rust crepe back satin on Fabric Row in Philly. Crepe back satin is easy to work with, machine washable, and has a great hand to it.
My copper wire tree centerpieces came to me in a dream. Seriously. And, no, I’m not crazy. The copper wire worked beautifully with the other colors.
My dress was (a light) ivory and I thought it made an easy neutral. A LOT of things come in ivory.
Gold. Dec. 29, 2007 was the 5th day of Christmas (5 Golden Rings) so the gold was my subtle nod to that. The table clothes were really the only thing that were gold and I’m pretty sure only my mother & I knew the reference but it’s cool. It made me smile
Orange = Flowers and the guys paisley ties. I had to get a little real orange in there somewhere!
